Purdue swung the momentum in Tuscaloosa in the second half to beat Alabama, behind Robbie Hummel’s 23 points and Chris Kramer’s three steals in the last five minutes for a 73-65 victory.
Alabama played so well, but ran out of steam at the end.
Key to the game was JuJuan’s Johnson’s foul trouble, two in the first two minutes. He was ridiculous. ‘Bama took a big lead.
But then he came back and helped win the game, blocking shots and scoring.
Without Johnson Purdue can get down by 16 to a good team like Alabama. But with him, Purdue can dominate.
Once Johnson came back, so did Purdue.
But the exciting thing about this team is how much everyone else contributes. Purdue would not have won this game without Chris Kramer, the Secretary of Defense.
Larry Clisby, the Voice of Purdue Basketball, said something like this: “Kramer is the best defender in the United States of America.”
Hummel, Kramer and Johnson are Indiana schoolboys. Remember that.++
